The Vega isn't thaat much different from the Xelento but the treble spike sits a bit lower (around 8k instead of 10k) which I found much more pleasant. Looks like that Tesla technology is pristine in both their large audiophile over-ear models and their high-resolution in-ears. Also included in the package are 2 types of high quality silver-plated MMCX cables. The mids are also better, just bass lacks a bit (when compared to the Xelento) but for your favorite genres you don't necessarily need a lot of (sub)bass anyway.Hi all, new to the reddit community but long term audio enthusiast, but quite stuck as to which IEM to go for. I demo'd 3 IEMs (Xelento, Andro and Vega) and went for the Vega because of the music genres I prefer. I do not intend to upgrade from this purchase any time soon (although don't we all say that lol), so would like to get it right. Currently, I'm choosing between the Campfire Andromeda, Beyerdynamic Xelento, and the Fender FXA11. Along with the white and silver cord, they are supposed to appear like gems on your ears. Technically, the Andro is the best of the three and clearly a level above the Xelento. IE800S vs Beyerdynamic Xelento – in this comparison, I hear IE having a wider soundstage, while Xelento has a little more depth with a farther extension. Do it wrong and you’d end up with hollow, thin audio, which was what I got once when I switched ear tips.And when you put them on, you realise how light the Xelento ear buds are. The bass is similar between the two, but ie800 has more sub-bass, while it feels more tactile on Xelento, having a bit more tangible impact on Xelento. Speaking of that, you have a good number of options, including silicone and Comply tips in various sizes. The Beyerdynamic Xelento in-ear headphone is the full package. I don’t detect any annoying sibilance, for example.At no time was the sound “stuck” in the ears, or even in the head. It makes the IEMs sound "clear" for some while other can't stand it. The Xelento sounds like a typical Beyer headphone - good bass and a treble spike at 10k. Xelento allows the lows, mids, and highs to each have their moment to shine. For some the separation between instruments can be too much but I found it very impressive, especially when listening to Classical music and live performances. I have heard Campfire Audio’s excellent Andromeda earphones, which set the standard in terms of projecting a 3D sound stage, but the Xelento isn’t that far behind either. In regards to what you're writing I'd say the Andro is the best pick for you. And the Sennheiser IE800, a long-time favourite of mine, has a competitor on its hands in terms of audio quality and looks alike. And yes, the cables are removable so if you want to tweak, go ahead. They are much better in sound quality compared to the Shure SE846 or Sennheiser IE800, I’ve owned both and I’ve also tried the Campfire Audio Atlas for a few days but the Beyerdynamic Xelento … But the last order of beyerdynamic xelento from amazon were perfect, third time lucky. They also offer impressive sound isolation, blocking out external noise effectively. Just be careful of removing them later, because they can stick to the ear buds quite tightly.What you have to be careful of is wearing the ear buds right. From female jazz vocals to movie soundtracks with a number of instruments going on at the same time, the Xelento never loses its grip.To be sure, the Xelento is attractive on many levels. As do some of the other jazz tracks from Stacey Kent, for example.The deep bass in some of the tracks in the Interstellar soundtrack never sounds over the top, even at loud volumes.
