The main thing is that it needs to have a small opening so you can write with the glue. Thanks for info with photos. I have never heard of that happening!Hi Eden, I will do some more Pearl Ex videos in the future.
You can also do a clear drop and then add pigment to it. I stamped the image onto the card stock, then sprinkled powder mixed with embossing powder over the bird image and brushed away the extra powder with a small size paintbrush.Gel medium, matte medium and texture paste are often used to push through stencils to get a raised image. I would love to see some more videos showing the uses for PearlEx powders.
:)Great tip Sharon! If I have this problem again I’ll send you photos. Your discount is figured on the total number of cotton and rayon items we ship, not how many of each type, style or size. I can see this takes practice, and I really don’t think the effect is pretty.

Good luck!Amazon only places a short 24 hour “window of opportunity” for us to be able to earn a commission from your purchases. I’ve had two packs of Pearl-ex (same two as you I think) for over 10 years.
I bought the same series a few years back but didn’t realize they had so many colors. Pearl EX creates a metallic look without being a metal, and it will not tarnish or fade. Of course if you add in traditional pigments suitable for exterior use, you will most definitely need a very good UV light blocking capability along with the marine quality variety topcoat.
I’ll have to look into that. Thanks for thinking of us like this.
I got the 32 set for Christmas. Try it mixed with Gum Arabic for a DIY metallic calligraphy ink or watercolor, in the Pearl Ex Varnish for working on non-porous surfaces, or mixed into … I love shimmery and shiny things and these Pear Ex pigment powders are certainly that. The pearl pigments can be tinted with translucent epoxy inks. But I forget from one time to the next how the various colours look on different colours of clay. I love your Your Tube tutorials I don’t think there is any subject that you do not cover.
I didn’t seal them with anything and the few I have left have all held their colors so I know the ones from TKB are just as good. I then turned over the card and tapped it onto a paper to catch the extra and then used a brush to brush away what was left. This comment is awaiting moderationThe first one is to mix it with stuff to add shimmer to the material being mixed with it and the second is to add it to pieces of artwork to give it some sparkle and pizzaz.Hi, I didn’t think your response was offensive I just hadn’t seen it..thanks for your comment Combine one part Pearl Ex pigment with two parts clear embossing powder, mixing them together in a small bowl with a plastic spoon until evenly blended. Gesso is often used a primer for journal pages and canvases and adding some powder to it makes for a nice background. I can’t believe, with my compulsion to make sample chips of recipe results, that I never thought to make chips with the Pearl Ex powders as well! It has a use for every artist, from watercolourist to auto painter, faux finisher to rubber stamper. or do I have to purchase it right away and put it in my cart?
