It is easy to tie and makes a nice connection.As for clips, they all pretty much are the same… if the surgeon knot isn’t comfortable, then I would recommend finding the smallest clip you can find that’s strong enough to handle your target species.Will the FG and PR work with braid to mono leader when going from heavier braid 50-65 lb to lighter mono 20-30 lbs. Perhaps there are knots that could turn flouro in +100%, but I highly doubt it.Please send me a link to the video once you make it (luke@saltstrong.com).
I will try using shorter leader, just always seems like a bit more to get the braid further away from the lure could never hurt!

However, I find that, because the eye of the lure is moving against the leader that has passed through it, it chafes that line after so many casts. Used steady increasing force to break it. But I don’t see much value in the knot itself unless you’re planning to sell some sort of gadget that is required to tie the knot.The palomar knot is great for mono, but it has consistently underperformed with braid simply because it doesn’t have as much surface area to spread the tension load.Hi I was watching Bass guy Gman Gerald Swimdle show his knot, he doubles line thru jig then wraps around the main line several times and passes this doubled line thru the loop and tighten it leaves 3 tags to cut ,a double and a single ,he says best knot for flourocarbon. Can’t find itMany anglers use Fluorocarbon for their leader material since it’s known to be stronger the less visible than traditional monofilament line.The bimini twist is essentially a just slip knot that has a lot of friction.
